Carp Fishing Holidays
I have been to France carp fishing a couple of times, once in 1998 and then again in 1999. The first time was pretty fruitless, we caught one carp in the whole week we were there. The second time I went in 1999 I did a little bit of research so I knew what to expect when fishing this French venue. The 1999 French carp fishing trip was an outstanding success and we caught about 40 carp during the week, the biggest 27lb. I found the experience of fishing for carp in France quite difficult, a lot more difficult than fishing the commercial waters in the UK. However, if you want to go somewhere where you have an extremely good chance of catching a massive carp then France is definitely the place for you. I have looked on the Internet and found a few websites where you can book a carp fishing holiday in France. Well for us, we must have baited well because Lynsey and I have packed up in England and moved to this fantastic green and tranquil oasis that we have christened Carp and Cats. The suit has been replaced by rubber waders, and the stilettos (Lynsey’s – not mine) went on eBay.
This place is a far cry from my boyhood days fishing in the UK. Here the sky is blue, the water is crystal clear, we have more than our fair share of sunshine and some cracking big fish. The only thing that hasn't changed is my passion for angling.
Which is why it gives us so much pleasure to invite you to this amazingly, beautiful spot where we have created a one-of-a-kind exclusive fishing lake with amenities to suit not just the keen angler, but the entire family.

Windmill Lakes
There are 2 four acre lakes at Windmill situated between the historical cities of Laval and Le Mans, just 2½ to 4½ hrs from the ports of Caen and Calais.
The dedicated Carp Lake has Mirrors, Commons and Grass Carp to 45lb+ and the Catfish Lake combines a “runs” water with the adventure of big Catfish to 75lb+ and counting.
The lakes were dug approximately 20 years ago and are surrounded by a plantation of poplar trees, completely secluded from outside distractions. We have no roads, trains or industrial units anywhere near the lakes, so apart from the occasional tractor there is total peace and tranquillity.
We have an lakeside Alpine Chalet situated just 15 metres from the banks of the Carp Lake, so you can enjoy the beautiful views of the whole venue whilst enjoying a beer on the veranda. More info...
There is an English style shower and toilet, with hot and cold running water, adjacent to the main house which is available 24/7, also a fridge and bait freezer are on site for your se.

Moorland French Fisheries
Moorland Fisheries French Carp fishing lake is a 15 acre, 300 year old, estate lake set in our own 33 acres of securely fenced, beautiful and totally undisturbed, Burgundy countryside. There are 20 level swims cut around the lake but we limit the number of anglers to 10 per week so there is always plenty of room to move or try stalking in the quiet areas.
