Following the recent meeting regarding the planning application of Park holidays in Brixham I believe there are various factors why this planning application should not be granted.

While I appreciate Park holidays business aspirations or needs I do not believe that these should be met at the expense of the local community or the natural environment of this unique area.

If Park holidays wish to build houses in Douglas Avenue then it should be in keeping with the quality and standard of existing property in the Avenue. The proposal was submitted to us showed double the density of housing which also appeared to push the building line far too close to the road. I do not find this acceptable.

There have been applications in the past to "develop" the green area of the camp immediately behind the properties and Douglas Avenue. Those applications have been turned down because of the damage that would be incurred by the natural environment I have seen nothing in the proposals to convince me that the pheasants, badgers and bats would continue to have the same freedom of movement that they enjoy at this time. Furthermore, this visual impact of any such development needs to be much more carefully considered.

I am sure that Park Holidays make a valuable contribution to the local economy and I wish them well for the future and I trust that they any revised business proposals will be more compatible with the local community environment
