I was looking through the Joomla extensions directory yesterday searching for something that would enable me to add music to the website. I came across the "Pro Magic Audio Player" by Projoom. It is a commercially available module & plug-in that enables you to insert audio players into your articles. It's very straightforward extension that works great out of the box. However it is highly customisable so that you can match it up to your website colours quite easily. You get both a module and plug-in which gives you a lot of options of what you can do with this player. The beauty of "Pro Magic Audio Player" is that because it also comes as a plug-in, you can literally put it anywhere in an article.. You can also have as many players on the page as well. If you look at the example I have used you will see that I am displaying various albums by a British band called Madness. It's quite simple, you create a folder somewhere in your directory and then just install your music to it. Because it's designed this way you can have as many players as you want. Even if you wanted 50 players on a page, that wouldn't be a problem, apart from taking for ever to upload the music.
The "Pro Magic Audio Player" retails at $19.99 which is a little over £12 Sterling. I think this is fantastic value for money considering how good this extension is. I absolutely guarantee that once you try this audio player, you'll never look at another one.
The support for this extension is also probably the best I've ever come across. When I realised that it didn't support MP4 I contacted Projoom and no word of a lie, I had an answer within the minute.
I must add that this player is only designed to work with MP3 files. I found out today that when you import music to your computer using iTunes , they are actually installed as MP4 format. This format will not work with the pro Magic audio player. Thankfully it is very easy to configure iTunes to convert MP4 files back to MP3. If anyone has any problems then I can give you instructions on how to do it.
