This is a quick message to Dave, if that's your real name, who sent me a very rude email telling me that I had misspelt savaloy. You sir are a troll and a coward. You send me an abusive email using a false email address.

What makes me laugh is you must have spent a considerable time enjoying my article on carp fishing. I can only put your little outburst down to jealousy.

I'm going to trend a new Twitter hashtag that I hope people will use to report carp catches in the Torbay and surrounding area. So if you've caught some nice carp and would like to share some photos and information with other anglers them please use the following hashtag on Twitter. #CarpCatchReportTorbay

If you've not used Twitter before, or you've got an account and don't know how to use it then it's quite simple. Write your message which can't be any longer than something like 147 characters (that's approximate). By the way, that doesn't include the photo, you can write your message and include your photos. Now the important thing to remember is to put in the hashtag at the end of your message. The hashtag will be included in a number of characters.

If you are a fisherman then I don't have to tell you how great the sport is. If you are a serious fisherman then you well know that when you're not fishing you're thinking about fishing, and when you are fishing your thinking about the next time you're going to go fishing. People who have the fishing bug think about it all the time. Now imagine being absolutely hooked on fishing but because of a disability you simply cannot get out and participate. Frustrating would be a complete understatement. I know this from personal experience. Thankfully I do have people who will go fishing with me, however, we have to arrange our trips, I can't simply decide to go fishing whenever I want, I've got to go when it's convenient for my helpers. That suits me, I know that people can't just drop everything when I want to go fishing. But there are people out there who don't have anyone to go with them, I really feel for these people, it must be horrible when you really want to do something but it's simply impossible because you don't have anyone to help.

I would like to bring together like-minded anglers in the South Devon area and offer help to disabled anglers who for some reason cannot go fishing on their own. I would like to make it quite clear that this would be on a voluntary basis. I think it's important that the disabled people who want to go fishing don't feel obliged that they have to pay the person who is helping them. Anyway, I would like to think that both parties would be able to fish, the helpers just there to help the disabled person tackle up, baits up land fish. After all, it's more fun to go fishing with a buddy than going all on your own.

Now the new fishing season is nearly upon us I decided that a new elasticated strap was needed as the old one is starting to wear out. The straps I've had before have all been made out of an odd bit of elastic that I managed to get hold of. This time I decided to look for something that little bit more robust and will last a bit longer. One of the straps I had before I was made out of elasticated corset that someone didn't want any more. So I had a roof around on the Internet and found some elasticated back support that people use if they've got bad backs, or require some extra support when working. After looking around for a day or two I found one that seemed to fit the bill so ordered it. I was absolutely delighted when it arrived, it was almost made for the job. The only alterations I had to make were the removal of an extra strap that wasn't needed and the attachment of some extra Velcro. Apart from that the strap was perfect and should last for many years.

I got my strap from an online website called Better Life Healthcare and it cost around £14.

I had a nice chat with Martyn Green the other day on the phone about fishing the River Dart at Totnes the other day. I've never spoken to him before but after our telephone call had learnt so much about where to catch flounder and bass and the best ways to catch them when fishing in the River Dart. If you are looking for a fishing tutor then I don't think you could go wrong with hiring Martyn. You can hire him as a fishing tutor for as little as an hour, or a full day. According to his website he can take up to 4 people.
