Found your site. I am also disabled, but can walk with pain. I enjoy uesing my radios to help people in need. But there are many that think I should quit because I am living on a fixed income. I am so tired trying to tell them how I feel about it.

Just happened to come about your website while looking for carp fishing tips.  I am fishing with my dad this summer in a lake in Michigan, USA.  We fish from the shore and always see carp breaking the surface close by (in June)  I dont think they are spawning, but it looks like they are picking bugs off the surface (though I thought they are bottom feeders).  Any idea of how we might catch them?? They certainly are active, but they are not taking our night crawlers on the bottom.

Also,  I really appreciate you posting your story. I read the whole thing. Very inspiring. Thank you.

Thanks-

Steve (LA, USA)

I'm doing my FdA Music Degree 2nd year, so don't have much time to come and see you, but keep up the articles, very informative. I hope to start a site sometime about my experiences with Muscular Dystrophy.

Hope to see you soon,

Have to agree with some other comments. I've just started Carp fishing 3-4 months ago with some friends and this site has really expanded some techniques. Well presented and simple inormation. The assumption that everyone is pro is all I ever find on fishing websites.

So fun to find a site where there is a light heartedness about living disabled.(not with a disability).

Thanks for sharing.

So many people are so wrapped up living with a disabilty, they forget to live.

Thank you! for possibly the most helpful article on carp fishing i think i can find on the entire internet (all other articles seem to assume im an experienced angler.) As someone who is excited when ANYTHING other than a roach or perch takes the bait it really is packed full of great tips! Heres to hoping for a couple more carp!

Hello, I took my son (11 yrs) to Brixham last Saturday, we had an excellent day, took him fishing in the outer harbour by the car parks. Enjoyed reading about fishing from the breakwater. we are still novice anglers, so it's good to find some useful and well written tips.

Thanks, regards Dave

I found your website today and am very impressed with how you've coped.I was in a manual wheelchair for 16 years but my condition deteriorated and I am now in a powered and funnily enough I was off to do a bit of sea fishing off the rocks in Newquay, on the day of my accident. I tried it again for a while and even tried going back to doing a bit of coarse fishing, I've still got two rods and two reels but without the vehicle am a bit snookered for now.I have sent you an email so hope to hear from you soon,

cheers Steve

Clive ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ): Hello from the past

Penn,

I found your website by accident after looking for some 80s photos of torbay and came across the photos you had deidcated to Gary.

When I saw the photos I thought I know those chaps. I remember both you and Gary from School; although I was in the year below you. It was sad to think that Gary passed away so young.

I then followed the link to your website.

I enjoyed reading your story.  I had to smile when I read about a certain PE teacher. His practices were the same for us.

I wish you the best of luck for the future. Im still in the bay. If I see you around I will make myself known.

Take care.

Great read mate. Learned a lot about Tetraplegia & quadraplegia. The stuff on how the damage relates to what vertebrete gets whacked explained the differences in a couple of friends worked (Including the wierd case of one of my friends who had basically no movement chest down EXCEPT full use of one of his feet somehow (So he took up the drums!).

Heres me whinging about slicing my foot open working in the backyard yesterday and having a limp lol.

Hopefully these neurology boffins ***ing about with stem cells work out how to fix this *** one day eh?

Best of luck mate, and keep on fishin'

Hi Penn,  God, what a life you`ve had - and your only about 50, at a guess.   Brave guy too - good on yu` as my Aussie friends say.`

My mother`s family were Woodings and lived in Luton. For generationd they came from Houghton Conquest near Luton. My gt. grandfather was Woods Lee Wooding and his mother was Emma Wooding - she never married, and was probably got at by some lad when she was in service (got at twice it seems since she had two sons, both with the name Dexter as a middle name). She brought up my mother from 1917-1920, then died aged 83.  I`m telling you all this in case your lot were longstanding Bedforshire hat makers like mine.  Any link? I`ve written our pretty detailed history.  Best regards,  Mike

Hello Penn,

You are an inspiration. My friend is a tetrapligic. I saw your article on the computer mouse and Dragon software. Do you still recommend these products or do you have any new devices? I want to get something which will help my friend, Jimmy, for Christmas. I was looking at the mouse. Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

thanks,

Peter

Pauletta McGuire ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ): Friend of a quad

Hi, I just came be your site, I was looking into medical issues quads face.  Latest one my boss has (quad since 2004 c6/c7) He use to self cath, started getting to may UTI's.  to save his kidneys the decided to take out his bladder.  At that point he thought he could still have *** with his wife with the aid of meds.  Doesn't work that depresses him.  He also has a pump inside his stomach that dispenses meds to keep his legs from spasming so that he can drive.  What has happen next scares him and me.  He said he is in so much pain that he has been blacking out.  He's thinking the last time he had his pump filled maybe the meds were genaric.  Tonight he said quad can get a disorder where the pain re-routes itself to the brain or other places and can cause stoke or death.  I'm probably not making much sence.  Any input or knowledge of yours would help.  He is 44  Thank you
