Keeping and caring for the Oscar Fish Cichlid is not a difficult task as long as you give them the correct environment to live in. We've all learned by our mistakes, especially me. In 2006 I decided I it was time to share with others about what it takes to look after the Oscar Fish. So in late December of 2006 Oscarfishlover.com was launched. I didn't want to just create a forum, what would be the point in that? There was already other sites doing this. I wanted to create a website where people could browse at their leisure and gain all the information they need to set up an aquarium for an Oscar Fish and care for it properly. Well, I must've done something right because within 12 months we had displaced Oscarfish.com from the top position on Google from where they reigned since 1999. Looking at the statistics, we now take the lion's share of people looking for information on the Oscar Fish. Why is this? Because we do it better than everyone else. We don't run our forum like a dictatorship, we offer a friendly welcome to all and make people feel at home. I know this may sound arrogant, but the proof is in the eating.
I am extremely proud to be a part of OFL.com. However, even though I am responsible for the development of the website, it is actually our members that make it what it is, the number one source for Oscar Fish information on the Internet. We have lots of regular members who spend a lot of time on the website helping people with their problems. We have helped countless people over the 3 1/2 years & have probably saved hundreds of Oscars from a horrible fate. With well over 1000 hits a day, and over 5000 members we are a growing community that people really want to be a part of. We welcome new members with open arms and make them feel at home.
I've tried to make the website a fun place to visit, we have various other nice features such as a members social network which is very much along the same lines as Facebook. There is also a member's chat room, a photograph gallery, classified ads just to name a few of the nice little touches I've added.
