Archie Barton who had meningitis 7 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 4
Plymouth toddler Archie Barton has been left severely disabled after a bout of meningitis. Now, his parents have set up a website to raise awareness about the illness.

The family of a Plymouth toddler who lost his legs, eyesight, fingertips and nose to meningitis have set up a website raising awareness of the disease.

Archie Barton, who is almost two-years-old, didn't get the tell-tale purple rash until it was too late.

When he developed a temperature on 11 June 2007, his mother put it down to the fact he was teething.

But less than 12 hours later Archie was in hospital fighting for his life having been diagnosed with meningitis B, and meningococcal septicaemia.
