Hi Penn, my name's Jordan I'm 23 from England, this site has really moved me, my father died from Multiple Sclerosis when I was 18 (you'll have to forgive me I know It's completely different) we use to enjoy fishing together in the summer before the illness got too bad, looking through the pictures of you fishing made me feel happy as it triggered a memory of my dad and I fishing... I came accross you're site as my manager at work (I work in a call centre) has just been involved in an accident abroad (apparently from jumping in the sea) he has broken his neck but the doctors are not aware of the outcome yet (aparently there is too much swelling) he has had two major operations so far, one to insert a metal spine to support his neck, he is unable to speak or move any part of his body although the 2nd day of being in hospital he claimed he could feel pins and needles in his foot but not anymore. he is only 25 and we're praying for him right now... Anyway this is a great site and i'm glad to hear you're better than what you was in the year 2005 (that must of been horrible) take it easy and post some more fishing pics up now summers on its way :)

hi Jordan, thanks for signing the guestbook. I'm also very sorry to hear about your friend. it is very early days and like you say, there is a lot of swelling so things could improve dramatically, it might just take a while.

Nice site Penn! I'm a C-5 myself (6 yrs) and a successful web designer/developer as well. You're right btw, that doing design as a job does take some fun out of it (all those pesky demanding customers, lol)!

Hi, I am the mother of a 22y/o son that suffered a diving accident, crushing his 5th dervical vertebrae. He continues to improve everyday but the improvements are slow. He is very anxious and fearful. He is my youngest of 5 and I don't know what to do for him or his fears. He says he would rather die than be a cripple. It tears my heart out when he says these things. What can I do??? Please help me and Alex. :cry

Hi there Penn
This is a great site ... you're an inspiration!
I am one of a team of carers looking after a guy who is a tetraplegic due to an accident involving his pet reindeer. He has a great spirit, and is determined like you to make as much of his life as he can. We have a good laugh with him.
I'll save some pages of your site and take my laptop up to show him what I've saved.
I'm going to have a look at the multigym link, see what's there ... might give us some ideas for a change in his physio routines, give him a bit of freshness.
Anyway, I'll leave you in peace ... just wanted to say how impressed I am by what you're doing!!
Hugs from the Falkland Islands.
Trudi

Thanks for taking the time to drop by. About 10 years ago, I spoke to a radio ham called Charlie who is down in the Falklands. Haven't heard him since. Take care and good luck

Thanks very much, yes, I've got that summer, an interesting film if you happen to live in the area and know the film locations.

I was just surfing the net at 4 a.m. for spinal cord related information and came across your site. Thanks for sharing your story. A little inspiration goes long way... approximately 3300 miles in my case writing from Massachusetts, US. I received my spinal cord injury from falling asleep behind the wheel in 2002, so for my one final point I'd like to add: be careful while driving. Take care, Rey from USA.
